Sahni is a village near Lakhpur, Tehsil Phagwara, Kapurthala district, in Punjab, India.[1] The village is also known as Lakhpur Sahni.
According to the 2001 Census[2], Sahni has a population of 1,264 people. Neighbouring villages include Lakhpur, Malikhpur, Nasirabad, Rampur Khalyan, Prempur, Harbanspur, Rampur Sunra and Bir Dhadoli.
Sahni is situated on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Road. It is 14 km from Phagwara, 29km from Hoshiarpur, 35 km from Jalandhar and 55 km from Ludhiana. MOST population belongs to kahlon clan. In 1978 Gurmeet Singh Dosanjh and his wife Surinder kaur and his family migrated from khatkar kalan,Dosanjh family is now well renowned and established in village,because they fought for the village and for the property of the village that was acquired by the Balvir singh kahlon son of Sadhu singh kahlon and sadhu singh kahlon son of Sewa singh.They are on the top of defaulter list of the gram panchayit village sahnni block phagwara.The village has a government high school.
